Hey there!:) I am Shiheng from Taipei...an enthusiastic road cyclist, an amateur violinist, a data analyst (SQL/GA4 geek) during the week, and of course, your English/Spanish/Chinese tour guide in Taipei!
I started the journey as a part-time tour guide outside regular office hours since 2017. Right after studying in Spain, Denmark, and Slovenia for my master's degree and joining free walking tours in 20 European countries myself, I felt that walking tour is a great way to share my knowledge about the history, nature, and culture of Taiwan with foreign travelers like you, and also for me to learn more about your own culture. This is exactly why although I do NOT make a living out of walking tours - unlike most tour guides you meet in touristy countries - I still obtained the official tour guide license and spend my weekends with travelers from all around the world. It's simply my passion!
I speak native Chinese (Mandarin) and Taiwanese, kind of master English, Spanish, Vietnamese, and also know a bit of German and Catalan. As I have worked and studied in several countries in Europe and Asia, my friends are mostly from Europe, Southeast Asia, and Latin America. So, if you happen to be from these regions, I am pretty sure that you will understand the Taiwanese culture more easily from the stories I prepare for you. So far, I have accompanied 2,000+ international travelers from 40+ countries to explore Taipei/New Taipei/Keelung, and I look forward to seeing you as well 😀

Eine ganze tolle Tour, richtig schöner Weg, sehr informativ. Shiheng hat sich super viel Mühe und tolle Tipps gegeben. Seine ganze Art war super begeistert und sympatisch. Der Ausblick und die Tempel waren richtig schön gewählt und auch die Stärkung danach hat Spaß gemacht. Ich kann es jedem empfehlen, der sich gerne bewegt, in der Natur ist und dabei spannende Informationen zu Kultur, Religion und Geschichte Taiwans hören möchte. Toll auch, dass die Tour so klein war und Shiheng auf alle unsere Fragen eingehen konnte. Vielen Dank für die klasse Tour, ich hab sie sehr genossen!!!
I had the best Guruwalk experience with Shih-Heng! He was incredibly nice and extremely knowledgeable, sharing fascinating insights throughout the tour. The hike itself was so unique, taking us through beautiful paths I wouldn't have found on my own, and it ended at a charming, one-of-a-kind tea house that was the perfect finishing touch. After the tour, he went above and beyond by giving me tons of recommendations for other things to do in the area. Highly recommend this tour for anyone looking for an unforgettable experience!

I would highly recommend this experience. The hike was beautiful, and definitely not something we would have found ourselves. Shiheng was a great guide. He was very informative about Taiwan and Taiwanese history including having visual aids ready. The whole experience was a treat from the hike, to the temples, to the final snack at a local mountain bakery. I can't recommend this enough! For those who aren't regular hikers, just be aware that there are several longer flights of stairs that might be strenuous for some.
Shiheng is a knowledgeable and supportive tour guide. He gave us lots of informative insights about Taiwan’s history, culture, religion, geography and also fun facts. The view from the temple was breathtaking and it was so worth the hike. We enjoyed pineapple cake, oolong tea and scallion pancake from a lovely bakery shop with greenery view. Highly recommend for nature-lovers who enjoy exploring the hidden gem’s outskirts of the touristy places in Taipei.
