Follow us through Düsseldorf's historic city centre in the footsteps of Napoleon, the Toten Hosen and Joseph Beuys. We'll tell you the best stories from our city's history, peppered with the most exciting anecdotes and the best tips on eating, drinking, dancing, culture... Hello, my name is Meike. After working around the globe for about ten years, I settled in Düsseldorf in 2010. Today I am a travel author and of course tour guide. Kerstin is a passionate and experienced tour guide in Paris and Düsseldorf, a visitor to punk rock concerts, always on the hunt for new experiences, places and adventures and has thousands of stories about Düsseldorf at her fingertips. Our small team also includes Holger, Henning, Andreas and Dirk, who are also involved in the Free Walking Tour from time to time. Each of us will of course give you a vivid insight into Düsseldorf's city history, peppered with lots of anecdotes. We don't follow a set script, each of us will show you Düsseldorf in our own unique way, just as we would with friends from outside the city.
Join us on a stroll through the very heart of Düsseldorf!
During our walk through the streets of the Altstadt, we are going to discover the history of the typical Altbier, check out the river promenade and we will let you know our best stories about Napoleon, Killepitsch and why Düsseldorf ist the german centre of Punk Rock Music.
Those are the hot spots on our tour through the Altstadt:
# Königsallee
# Carlsplatz
# The typical Düsseldorf Breweries
# Old Town
# River Rhine
Of course we will share our favourite locations with you, just as the best places for an Altbier, the greatest burger in town, our favourite museums and where to get a drink with the best view!
How to find the Guide:
At the Bridge at Königsallee 43, you will see a Cartier Shop. We are waiting for you opposite this Cartier Shop, at the east end of the Bridge. Watch out for someone wearing a Stadtpfade Lanyard!
Königsallee 43 │ East end of the bridge, opposite of the underground station and the cartier shop.
Free tours do not have a set price, instead, each person gives the guru at the end of the tour the amount that he or she considers appropriate (these usually range from €10 to $50 depending on satisfaction with the tour).
