Do you want to know what no one has told us? Discover history from the Soviet perspective and understand the origins of the division of Berlin, Germany and Europe? This is your tour!
For 4 years I have been offering this tour to tourists passionate about art and history who are looking to get away from the more commercial tours.
We will learn about the history and symbolism of the most impressive monument to the Soviet footprint in Berlin . The largest anti-fascist memorial in Europe and the largest military cemetery in Germany will help us learn about Soviet art, Hitler's expansion across Europe, the forgotten victims of World War II, Stalin's policies and many more issues that determined the lives of Berliners and Germans for 50 years.
An essential tour to understand 20th century German history.
Some contents of the tour:
The roots of the German division
The Battle of Berlin and the end of the war.
The Great Patriotic War or the Soviet narrative of history.
Stalinism and art.
War memorials and historical memory
Communism; the new Religion.
Lebensraum; Hitler's plans in Eastern Europe.
Violations and abuses against the civilian population.
And much more...
*The tours will be carried out with a minimum of 4 people and a maximum of 25. If the group is smaller, I will contact you directly to let you know and try to arrange another date.
*Since I do the tour with small groups, with the aim of making it more participatory, and I pay a tourist fee, it is profitable for me to do it from 10€ per person. I thank you in advance for taking this into account when making the payment. Thank you very much !
I will be waiting for you in front of Café Bäckerei Sesam, which is located next to the exit of the Treptower Park S-Bahn stop.
Free tours do not have a set price, instead, each person gives the guru at the end of the tour the amount that he or she considers appropriate (these usually range from €10 to $50 depending on satisfaction with the tour).
