Hello everyone! I'm Rubén, official tour guide and guru of Madrid;), I'm 28 years old, I like to be called Rubens, I consider myself a "cat" (native of Madrid). I also collaborate with friends and family who help me on a timely basis with reservations. I have a degree in tourism and halfway through my history degree and at the moment I'm self-employed. I started to fall in love with the profession in 2019 thanks, in part, to my friend Aurora, but from 2020 onwards I worked with arkeotour which is a company that also helped me a lot, and then in 2021 I started doing the tours on my own and trying. You must keep in mind that Madzguía has only been active for a short time and many times the minimum number of necessary attendees is not reached, starting, as you well know, is not easy at all. I'm a fun guy, I consider myself close to people and I love exchanging opinions with travelers, since they can bring you experiences without having traveled outside of Madrid. I have travelled a bit around Europe and that has helped me to love this job, because in every corner there is always a story to tell and I think Madrid is a perfect city to teach all kinds of tours. It is a city full of life where everyone feels at home, for me it is one of the best cities in Spain and one of the best in the world. I have experience as a local guide, but I am very passionate about my job and I like to teach and explain events, for me it is the ideal job. That is why I think being able to work in my own city doing something I like as a local guide is a privilege.
Did you know that this was the first public park to be created in Madrid (not counting the retreat that was created for the entertainment of the court)? It was opened to the public in 1905. It is located in the Argüelles neighbourhood, in the eastern part of the city.
This is a tour that combines statues from different eras, an Egyptian temple, curiosities, vestiges of the civil war, unique green areas and spectacular views.
Because it was a front line in the civil war, some aspects of the subject will be mentioned, curiosities and secrets of the civil war, as well as the history of many heroes of the 19th and 20th centuries. It's curious, isn't it? It is also called the park of the rebels.

We will start the tour next to the statue of José Gervasio Artigas and cross the Parque del Oeste until we reach the Debod temple.
Warning:
It is a tour that takes you along the western park and ends at the Debod temple, it is approximately 5 kilometers on foot. It is not suitable for people with reduced mobility.
It does not include a visit to the Debod temple, but you can still wait in line to enter at the end of the tour.
Please do not book if you are less than 5 as I cannot guarantee the tour will take place.

It is advisable to wear comfortable walking shoes and it is recommended to bring a bottle of water.
