On our tour we will see Old Islamic Cairo landmarks and here's a brief of our itinerary Starting with Al Azhar Mosque as a resplendent congregation cons dered The Oldest Islamic University for Religious Studies receiving International Students every year. Built by Jawhar Al Siqilli in 972 at the time of Sultan Al Moez after Cairo became the capital of the Fatimid Caliphate, Its name from Al Zahraa meaning the shining one title for Fatimah the daughter of Prophet Muhammad.
Then we will see Al Hussein Mosque and the Mausoleum of imam Hussein ibn Ali and Fatima daughter of Prophet Muhammad built in 1154 Some Shia Muslims believe holly Husayn's head is buried in.
Also, we will go by Khan El Khalili Bazaar built in 1382 by Jaharkas Al Khalili in the time of Sultan Barquq after he demolished the Fatimid Mausoleum. The building is multi floors stores with caravanserai inns for merchants around the inner peristyle there's a courtyard to store goods and the upper floor as living quarters.
Then going by Al Moez Street to discover Qalawun Complex built by Sultan Al Mansur Qalawun in 1284 includes Bimaristan, Madrasa and Mausoleum, it's a major monument of Islamic Mamluk Architecture.
