Hi, My name is Viktor. I am trying to revive my high school experience in being a city and museum tour guide. My life brought me a bit far from experience of my youth, but I would be glad to regain these skills with your help. I am personally most interested in the period of the history of the Eastern Europe in the 80-90ies of the 20th century and would be glad to share with you some facts on my walks.
I invite you to have a short walk with me through the history of the singing culture of Estonia and most specifically, of what role this culture played in Estonian independence. This walk is the first part of my local history standups along the seashore of Tallinn Bay which are focused on the late 20th-century part of Estonian history.
During this descent into history (quite literally) I will share with you some worth mentioning milestones of Estonian history from the point of view of choir singing culture. We will go down to the roots and emerge in modern times on the shore of the Baltic Sea.
This short walk starts on the top of the Estonian Singing grounds on Narva Road and finishes on the Pirita promenade next to the sea and connections to the city center.
If you have a spare one hour of your time on your vacation in Tallinn, and you have already enjoyed other parts of the city, feel free to join me to hear something new, admire some Instagrammable views, and, with a particular bit of luck, enjoy the summer sun and warmth.
To find a starting place for the tour Google address below or search for "Lauluväljaku Hill Gate". Will be waiting for you in front of the entrance to the field with the laptop in hand.
Free tours do not have a set price, instead, each person gives the guru at the end of the tour the amount that he or she considers appropriate (these usually range from €10 to $50 depending on satisfaction with the tour).
