Tour description

*** Due to heat advisories, I'll only be doing an evening tour, until further notice. Please know that there are plenty of eateries no matter where you wind up in New Orleans! ***
Visitors will join me in a stroll to and through the lovely French Quarter on a excursion of both historic knowledge and art appreciation.
The US Customs building  on Canal St. will begin our journey into the French Quarter, via Waldenburg Par, seeing Jewish Memorial Sculpture Exhibit, as well as other street sculpture along the way to the original Federal Courthouse.
Jackson Square, which includes the St. Louis Cathedral, the Cabildo and the Presbytère, as well as a landscaped park, will be next. It's surrounded by quaint boutique shops and apartment balconies. We will continue across to the Mississippi Riverfront via The Moonwalk and over a bit further  passing featured sculptures. On our way down Decatur and S. Peters Sts, we'll pass historic buildings, restaurants and businesses, all along the way to the famous French Market. At the market a variety of artisans, farmers, artists and vendors from around the world can be found celebrating the deep rooted culture of one of the oldest open markets in our country. The Mint On Esplanade Ave., (housing the Jazz Museum), marks the end of the French Quarter and the beginning of the Faubourg Marigny..There's a Riverfront Streetcar*** that runs all the way back upriver to Canal St. from this point, if so desired to return to the heart of the 'Quarter'.
We can, (or may), continue to Frenchmen St. and its art walk. The tour can go a little longer, depending on the group's initiative.
It's also a possible to alter the beginning to include more of the riverfront and Warehouse District/Central Business District.

***The RTA (Regional Transit Authority---Orleans Parish) offers day passes for $3. & $6. including JET (Jefferson Transit---Jefferson Parish)
