Hello, I'm Victor, a professional tour guide specializing in Greek culture and history. With over 12 years of experience living and working in Rethimno, I aim to offer visitors a modern perspective on Greek hospitality. As an experienced guide, I have the skills to provide unique and insightful tours, particularly focusing on the rich history and charming old towns of Crete. I look forward to sharing lesser-known stories about Crete with you.
Discover the beautiful Venetian city of Rethymno with a 2-hour walking tour. Explore historic landmarks such as the Loggia, the Catholic Monastery, the Neratzes Mosque, the Rimondi Fountain, and the Venetian harbour. Rethymno is known for its authenticity, being home to the University of Crete and a hub for Cretan gastronomy. The city hosts the second most famous Greek Carnival and is located along a beautiful sandy beach, offering a vibrant atmosphere with tavernas around its ancient port, and charming streets. With a mix of old and new, Rethymno is a city rich in history and beauty that you won't want to miss.

The Loggia, where the Venetian nobility met to discuss political and economic matters, was a splendid edifice in the middle of the city.
The Rimondi Fountain is located in what is now Platanos Square and was once the centre of the Venetian city. It was built in 1626.
During the period of Venetian rule, it was the Augustinian church of the Virgin. The Turks converted it into a mosque in 1657, today the Neratzes Mosque houses the Odeion.
The building which today houses the Archaeological Museum of Rethymno was the Catholic Monastery of the Franciscan monks.
Free tours do not have a set price, instead, each person gives the guru at the end of the tour the amount that he or she considers appropriate (these usually range from €10 to $50 depending on satisfaction with the tour).
