Hi there! My name is Muhamed. I'm your go-to tour guide for Prizren, and I’m excited to share the best of this city with you. I know the ins and outs of the region’s history, culture, and hidden gems, and I love crafting tours that highlight the unique charm of each place. My goal is to make your experience not just informative but also fun and memorable. Whether you're keen on exploring ancient landmarks or diving into local traditions, I'll offer a personalized and authentic perspective that will make your visit truly special.
Meeting Point? - Find me at the Shadërvan Square in Prizren. I will be waiting at Soho Lounge Hotel, ready to greet you! How to Recognize Me? - I'll be wearing an official tour guide badge, with my name written on it, including the photo. You can't miss it! Look for me also near Sinan Pasha Mosque, the starting point of our journey.
Our adventure begins at Shadërvan Square, the lively center of Prizren. From the meeting point, we’ll take a short walk to the Mosque of Sinan Pasha, where you’ll admire its grand Ottoman architecture and learn about its significance in Prizren’s cultural and religious history.
Next, we’ll visit the Albanian League of Prizren, a site that played a crucial role in Albania’s struggle for independence and the formation of its national identity. Please note that the entry fee of 1€ per person is not included in the itinerary and must be paid separately by visitors.
A short walk takes us to the Complex of Gazi Mehmet Pasha, an Ottoman-era institution that includes a mosque, a medrese (school), and a library. You’ll hear about the complex’s historical and cultural contributions to the city.
We then proceed to the peaceful Teqe of Halveti Order, a Sufi spiritual retreat. Here, you’ll learn about the mystical practices of the Sufi order and its influence in Prizren.
Next we will visit the Serbian Orthodox Cathedral of St. George, an important religious and cultural landmark in Prizren. This magnificent cathedral, with its beautiful Orthodox architecture, offers a deep insight into the region’s spiritual heritage.
Our final destination and the highlight of the day will be the Catholic Cathedral of Our Lady of Perpetual Succour. This grand cathedral, with its striking architecture and deep spiritual significance, stands as a symbol of Prizren's diverse religious heritage, offering visitors a memorable conclusion to the tour.
Free tours do not have a set price, instead, each person gives the guru at the end of the tour the amount that he or she considers appropriate (these usually range from €10 to $50 depending on satisfaction with the tour).
