Hello dear Walker, my name is Jens, I've always lived in Leipzig and was a radio presenter for ARD and private radio. Furthermore, I have dealt with music planning, coaching and stage moderation in my previous working life. I have also appeared as a book author. Look forward to a real Leipziger, with life experience and fun in communication. Greetings from Jens
A real contemporary witness will take you on a discovery tour in his hometown. We visit places from the exciting autumn of 1989, look at developments back then and discuss the state of affairs today. How was it back then in the so-called "Hero City", what did people hope and expect, and how did Leipzig develop afterwards? What was life like here in the late 80s? How do the people of Leipzig live today? All of this will occupy us during the Leipzig 89 tour. Stops will include: Former Pretrial Detention Center of the State Security, Nikolaikirche, Gewandhaus, parts of the inner city ring, District Administration of State Security Important information: The tour takes place in German. Please register at least 24 hours before the planned tour start. Also note the information on Covid 19. If you want, bring a mouth and nose protection with you. As planned, we will not visit any places where this is required. Of course we adhere to the distance rules. Thanks for your time, greetings from Jens
On the Leipzig market square, right in front of the entrance to the Breuninger fashion house. I'm wearing a blue baseball cap that says "I love Leipzig"
Free tours do not have a set price, instead, each person gives the guru at the end of the tour the amount that he or she considers appropriate (these usually range from €10 to $50 depending on satisfaction with the tour).
