Hello! My name is Stefan. I was born and grew up in Sofia, the capital of Bulgaria. It’s where usually all my tours starts. I have a Bachelor’s degree in Cultural-historical heritage, and master’s degree in Cultural tourism. For a while I also studied master degree in “Urban studies”. Last more than ten years I spent a lot of my time exploring my country. I’ve found a lot of spectacular places which I’m excited to share with curious travelers. I can honestly say that I know Sofia perfectly. I know all of its hidden beauties that even most of the locals haven’t seen. I mainly work as a tour guide and airport transfers driver and in my days off I love to hang around here. This helps me to explore our country almost every day! I’m passionate about cycling and prefer to do trips by bike. I drive as well and love hiking and kayaking. So I’m ready to guide you around by any mode of travel. Recently I live also in the countryside where again discover new interesting places which could share with you.
If you want to see the most beautiful among hidden sights around Sofia this is your best chance!
Just about 50 km out of our capital is situated one of the wildest and most unknown areas even among Bulgarians. The area is so poor and depopulated and the municipality doesn't care that beholds one of the most amazing sights in the country which on other hand preserves it from the crowds of tourists.
This tour is perfect if you searching for a one day adventure and you want to visit beautiful unspoiled nature combined with amazing picturesque viewpoints and a 700 year old temple on a rock just above a beautiful lake!
If you're interested can also see our family property where I restore with natural materials and mainly my arms 130 year old clay house.
The final point can be reached by a little bit of hiking and a car, train and long hiking, bus, bike or even by boat (can find you a horse too). If you don't have a car the best option is the train but then there are 9 km hiking in direction (can shorten this by my car). The tour could last from 4 to 10 hours depending on the transport you choose, your pace and desires.
Please book at least 48 hours earlier otherwise I can't react to organise!
Under the big clock outside Central train station. I'm skinny enough to be easily recognized :)
Free tours do not have a set price, instead, each person gives the guru at the end of the tour the amount that he or she considers appropriate (these usually range from €10 to $50 depending on satisfaction with the tour).
