The old slave market was a site where slaves from Eastern Africa part of the central were brought at market waiting for negotiation and sold to Arabs merchant who came to buy slaves for the work in the date plantations and some as a domestic workers in an Arabs houses, the site which used to be a slave market constructed a church by English missionary to mark the end for the abolition of slave trade in 1873
Darajani market is the central market in Zanzibar and it is a place to see the local produce and activies of local Zanzibaris The market has five parts inside,each differ with the stuffs found in each section in a market,these are fish part,meat,spices,fruits and vegetable parts it is where local Zanzibaris come to shop and tourists intrested with the spices and buy from here and smell the aroma of the spices from the spice part
