In this free tour we want to share with you one of the most beautiful corners of the Eternal City; the emblematic neighborhood of Trastevere .
Like a town within a big city, this rione preserves its essence indifferent to the rhythms of the busiest Rome. On this tour you will therefore be able to learn about the origins, tradition and culture of one of the most authentic places that, for a long time, has resisted the arrival of tourists.
From the historic Ponte Sisto and crossing to the always busy Piazza Trilussa , we will walk through the alleys that served as inspiration to so many great artists throughout History, to reach the Santa Apolonia square .
The via de la Lungaretta will take us to the Piscinulla square , making a short stop at the famous “Dante's House” , where the writer stayed during a period of his life.
We will then arrive at the Plaza de Santa Cecilia and its homonymous church and together we will discover what really happened to the “patron saint of music.” A few steps from here is also the picturesque Plaza de los Mercaderes , which will remind us of the important gastronomic tradition that this neighborhood has.
We will continue through the streets of the most remote Trastevere to find the church of San Francesco a Ripa , whose interior houses one of the most surprising sculptures of the Baroque.
We will end our walk in style, in the spectacular Santa María square in Trastevere , the nerve center of the neighborhood and the engine of nightlife in this part of the city.
Without a doubt, this free tour will not leave you indifferent...
