Hello! 😀 My name is Virginia and I am a very smiling Segovian woman in love with her land and its history. I have been working as a guide in Segovia since 2018 and I think it is my perfect job because I really enjoy each visit with the people I meet, while I continue to train and learn. I will be happy to show you my city so that you fall in love with it just like I did.
Free Tour Legends and Curiosities.
Discover the best kept secrets of Segovia through its legends and curiosities.
The tour will begin at the foot of the Aqueduct where we will learn about the diabolical legend that is hidden behind the main monument of the city.
After that we will see a building that goes unnoticed by visitors but with incalculable historical value: the Artillery Academy . What will Death and Life have to do here?
We will continue towards the Mirador de la Canaleja , a stop with a primordial view of one of the most ghostly neighborhoods in Segovia and with a rather suggestive popular name. Here we will not be alone, we will be under the watchful eye of The Dead Woman .
We will continue through medieval Segovia while we will discover what relationship poets such as Lope de Vega or Antonio Machado have with the city, authors who will take us to the Plaza Mayor where our Patron, San Frutos "pajarero" will receive us from the door of the Cathedral.
On the way to the Alcázar we will pass through the Plaza de la Merced and we will literally take a look back at what that square and the neighborhood below, Barrio de las Canonjías , were like in the 16th century.
Finally, already in the Alcázar we discover what legend hangs over the castle that once served as inspiration for Walt Disney and we will learn about one of the most famous legends of Segovia.
I will be next to the fountain that is located in the center of the Día Sanz square. I will carry the Official Guide accreditation and a white bag (tote bag). The fountain and the square are located between the Artillery Academy and the Mariano Quintanilla Institute.
