I have been a tour guide in Barcelona for 7 years. I am passionate about history, writing and art. I love to transport people to other times and realities through story telling. Their faces of amazement and joy are like fuel for me.
Barcelona's Gothic Quarter is at its most beautiful and authentic by sunset and by night; there are less tourist crowds and it is incredibly atmospheric, it really is like stepping into a time machine and going backwards to the Middle Ages!
We will see a legendary fountain, explore an ancient Roman cemetery, and pass under the Roman city walls. We'll visit King's Square, wander the romantic narrow streets of the Jewish Quarter, and follow a trail of destruction from the Spanish Civil War. We'll discover saints and martyrs, kings and queens, and medieval gargoyles.
As well as history we will discover legends about knights and princesses and dragons. The ancient connects to the modern so
you'll understand the current political situation in Catalunya. By the end of this tour, you will fully understand how the city has developed over 2,000 years into the global phenomenon it is today.
Along the way, we will stop to get delicious hot chocolate in a traditional and local churros café (winter season) or for an irresistible ice cream (summer season)!
