Hello! I am Manuel, I was born in Stuttgart in the south of Germany, I spent my adolescence in Malaga to finally return to Germany, specifically to Berlin. From the first moment I felt fascinated by the intense history of this city. I hope that through my tours you understand and love Berlin as much as I do.
After the Second World War, the world was divided into two blocks: capitalism and communism . Out of fear of atomic war, the USSR and the United States will develop an ideological, economic, technological, artistic, educational war... the Cold War .
Berlin became a point of maximum tension, especially after the construction of the Berlin Wall , which became the icon of this historical period. Come and discover with us how and why the Wall of Shame was built, what it meant for families to be separated and what thousands of people were able to do to jump over the wall and start a new life.
We begin by visiting the Palace of Tears , where we will have a comfortable historical introduction. We will take the train to visit one of the ghost stations, go out again to the street to see the original Berlin Wall and continue talking about the wall and its victims at the Bernauerestrasse memorial. We will finish at around 12:30 next to the East Side Gallery to enjoy the urban art.
Reserve your place now and come and have a good time with us! We will discover:
What was the Berlin Airlift?
Why did the Soviets bring tanks onto the streets of Berlin in 1953?
How long did it take to build the Berlin Wall?
What happened to the city's subway after the wall was built?
How many people escaped from East Berlin?
How many sections of the wall remain in Berlin?
